Dorothy Middleton

Dorothy has worked at TNT almost since the day it opened, and there are few parts of the business she hasn’t done.

For a long stretch she was the first person an owner spoke to about selling. She took the initial calls, gathered the financials, and made sure each business was ready before it went to market. From there she moved into managing accounts, working with buyers and sellers through the offer, due diligence, and closing. She also built the firm’s referral relationships across Baldwin County, at a networking event nearly every week. By her own count she has had a hand in most of the businesses TNT has brought to market, at the start of the deal, in the middle, or at the end.

Her current listings run from a Montgomery car wash to a thirty-year Birmingham masonry contractor to rental businesses on the Gulf Coast.

With sellers, the hardest moment usually arrives with a good offer. The owner wonders whether a better one is coming. Dorothy’s advice is plain: there is no guarantee on the next buyer, and turning down this one can mean ending up with less. Take the deal on the table, and if something better appears, look at the options then. With buyers she is persistent without being a nuisance, and keeps the conversation on what makes the business worth owning and where it can grow.

Dorothy grew up around the buying, growing, and selling of businesses, and was part of it long before it was her job. She studied criminal justice with a career in border patrol in mind, then chose this work instead.

She lives in Mobile with her husband and their young son. Family, in her words, is her life.
